My Oreo cookie is passion and  for chasing the light. My favorite ingrediant is beginning with an idea and tossing it into a bowl.  Carefully measuring what could work. response to is “try it” whatever “it” is…ideas, methods, and concepts.  Take risks and think out of the box.  Invent something new or do something that hasn't been done. Explore and discover: put that in your suitcase of stuff you know and may need someday.  Teaching art is a recipe of culture, learning styles, creativity and cross curricular exploration. Art is a universal language and creative license to do anything imaginable.

    Accomplishments @ Cincinnati Country Day School 

  • Secured $250,000.00 in grant money to create a model photography curriculum in collaboration with tlhe University of Cincinnati to impact the future. The project was called EXPOSURE.

  • Designed and implemented a Professional Internship program in collaboration with the University of Cincinnat

  • Designed and implemented a visiting artist workshop series hosting the following artists... Stephen Marc, Mary Ellen Mark, Sandy Skoglund, Shimon Attie, Jerry Uelsmann, Maggie Taylor, Bruce Davidson, Duane Michaels, Chris Rainier, Tyler Shields and Lana Wong.

  • Co-founder of FOCUS project: Uniting ten schools public and private in a collaborative photography project. Culminating with exhibitions at the Rosenthal Contemporary Art Center (Cincinnati) and the Chicago History Museum. Past President of International Photo Imaging Educators Association Teacher of National Scholastic Art and Writing Gold Medal recipients.

  • Advance Placement program in 2-D design 2004-Present.  Students consistently receive scores of 4’s and 5’s. 

  • Scholastic Art competition students consistently win Gold Key Portfolio, Gold Key, Silver Key, and Honorable Mention. Students have also won Gold & Silver Key Awards nationally.

  • PIEA (Photo Imaging Educators Association Past President) is an international competition.  Students have consistently won awards and their work has been part of an international traveling exhibition.

  • Awarded by NAIS (National Association of Independent Schools) the Curriculum Innovation Award for the FOCUS photography project.
